Many of The MIT Groups various initiatives help control material and labor resource consumption but we found a key resource ingredient at most of our customer sites is their use of energy.

The MIT Group is experienced in a variety of energy management systems that can facilitate enterprise-wide energy management. Frequently our energy management systems are used to help in the following areas:

Energy Cost Control

Energy consumers in industry, commerce, institutions, and government want to take control of their energy costs for the long term.
  • Cost Allocation and Verification - You can track energy-related costs by department, process, or output. Catch utility billing errors by having revenue-accurate meters monitoring incoming feeds.
  • Improved Planning - Plan for cost-effective expansion by analyzing load trends and available capacity for existing equipment. Demand Response and Load Curtailment Programs

Independent System Operators (ISOs), Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), and utilities set up Demand Response and Load Curtailment programs to compensate energy consumers for temporarily reducing their demand for power. Consumers reduce loads by shutting off equipment or starting up their own generators. The programs vary by region: load curtailment sessions can be initiated by the energy supplier and power supply shortfalls, or the energy consumer and high electricity prices.

Our systems Provide:
  • Real-Time Supervision - You can send requests to a large customer base and track responses in real-time. Real-time verification of curtailment is necessary in order to use Demand Response / Load Curtailment as alternatives to ancillary services or standby generators.

Distributed Generation

Distributed Generation is a system of small, decentralized power plants situated close to end-users. Distributed generators can supply electricity to a single location or pump power directly into regional or national grids. The plants are owned by utilities, independent power producers, application service providers (ASPs), energy service providers, generator companies, or end users.
